Google After the expansion of the original building, now the real, authentic India vibe can be felt here. Much of the intricate art and sculpture were done by "shilpis" of India. A great place to join in worship, sit for meditation, engage in cultural activities, or host an event in their first class facilities.5 Stars

Google I’ve been going there every weekend and most Hindu festivals since last 3 yrs. A peaceful place full of positive divine energy. :)5 Stars

Google Serene, peaceful and spacious. Check the website before planning, as they have plenty of events that you can go to. You can also have Prasad (food - when I went they were serving curd rice, pulav, etc) at nominal price. You can offer puja too. Overall 5 star.5 Stars

Yelp The hindu temple on the east side of indianapolis feels like you are in india. The local indian community hired craftsmen from india who came and built the temple. The craftsmen come from a family of temple builders that goes back generations. Even the shrines and sculptures inside were built by the same family of craftsmen. We were impressed how much detail there is in both the building and the numerous temples inside. It felt like we were back in india. All are welcome to visit. If you like art, arcitecture or culture you'll get all 3 in abundance.they have tours monday evenings. call if you are interested. but you can go anytime they are open. enter at the east end, leave your shoes a cubby holes on the left as you enter. socks are ok but shoes are not allowed in the temple itself which is at the west end of the building.5 Stars

Yelp As far as temples go, I wouldn't rate it highly. Being the only temple in Indiana (as far as I know) and facing the obv difficulties of being in its infancy its not all that bad. The temple priest is knowledgeable and willing to help as are the people there, whom i conjecture are the temple president and his wife. My problems are manifold 1)The main altar was just way too crowded for such a big hall and the deities could have been spaced out a little more. 2)The pujari services were not available readily and the charges for services are not listed and they ask for an ambiguous donation which leaves you wondering whats the right amount? But that apart, its a great start and I hope they get everything sorted out and it grows to be a full fledged temple. Hari bol !5 Stars

Yelp I went to one of their fundraising events a few years ago (the TempleFest) and had an unpleasant experience. I was debating whether to post it but finally decided to. The various regional associations from India sell food during the TempleFest. Andhra association was selling dosas that year. Several of the people manning the dosa table were known to me. I paid for the dosa and one of my friends offered to make a fresh one for me. The guy in charge stopped her and gave me one that has been sitting for a while. I was so shocked by this treatment that I didn't know how to react. I also didn't want to make a scene. The dosa was not great. Since I had paid for it, I started eating it. While I was doing so, the guy in charge decided that the old dosas were not worth of selling and tossed them into the trash can. I was extraordinarily annoyed. This was not the fault of the temple organizers but one individual. I will never go back again. Also, I will be more proactive during the next temple visit. It is a shame though that one needs to be vigilant even when visiting an event like this.1 Star
