Yelp I'm a yoga teacher and the thing I love most about this place is Learning the philosophy and ancient text that yoga derived from in the Bhagavagita. The Kirtan and people are amazing, the laguna beach ocean breeze and the feast are the icing on the cake. In a world where people believe yoga is about sweating in a room with techno music. This is the real understanding and core of the philosophy and devotion of yoga. A must go for anyone seeking a deeper understanding of the phenomenon of eastern spirituality taking over in the west. Tukaram does a excellent job translating the information from ancient texts to make it actual in the here and now.5 stars
Yelp Let me begin by saying that I am not a follower of any religion. I happened to be in Laguna Beach with a friend and we saw the Hare Krishnas singing in the streets. We were people watching and wanted to go check them out when the throng began to go across the street and were entering the temple. We just followed them in. Everyone there was singing and dancing, smiling and there was music playing. We felt very comfortable. No one approached us about anything but several said hello and welcome with smiles. It was really beautiful, colorful and lively. The women were dressed in traditional Indian garb including bindis. Several of the men had white or orange robes. There were a number of children present and almost everyone looked to be of Eastern Indian descent. There was an alter with fruits across it and I'm quite sure that this was a particularly special celebration. The men danced on one side of the room and the women were on the other. No one seemed to mind at all while we took photos of the building and the people there and, as we left, people wished us well. All in all, it was an interesting experience and I'm glad we were allowed to drop in!4 stars
Yelp Whenever we drive on the PCH this is a must-stop!! I love the Hare Krishna temple ~~ here is a colorful mix of good energy people, great vibes and barefooted fun inside the temple. Their Sunday program is my fav~~ meditation, an enlightening teaching, then a free feast at the end at their Sunday program? Yes please and THANK YOU! We leave a donation in the box as our token of gratitude everytime we stop by. I had an amazing time dancing in the meditation. They do a type of meditation called mantra yoga or kirtan where you dance & chant. You could observe too if you dont feel like trying the chant. People are cool with you even if youre just observing until the free feast. Great vibes. All are welcome here.5 stars
