Google A non profitable Hindu temple working on the public funding and donation. There is most all major Hindu deities /idols placed under one roof. The pandit is really good at doing pooja. Every Thursday the temple have the Shej arati of Sri Shirdi Sai baba followed by mahaprasad.5 Stars

Yelp A Lovely temple right next to the Indian Street in Journal Square. The temple has idols of Raha Krushna, Durga Maa, Ganesh, Sai Baba, Shiva Linga and Nava Graha. Its a small but beautiful place for Hindu religion. They have special aarti every thrusday for sai baba followed by Langar (Prasad Sevan).4 Stars

Yelp The temple is nicely decorated and put together, but the Pandit who stays there was very rude and came off money hungry to me. I had this experience: I asked the Pandit if he could perform a prayer for me for my offering for a specific God. I told him I had left a coconut, lentils and money at the feet of the God. Instead of performing any simple mantra or prayer, the Pandit berated me multiple times for not putting the 2 coins I left at the feet of the God in the wooden box on the ground. I apologized and placed the coins in the wooden box, and even after this, the Pandit told me I don't need to do anything more. He did not perform any prayer and no words of prayer or worship at all were spoken. I was told 2 more times I just need to put the coins in the wooden box on the ground. I have read online about pandits performing prayer and speaking a specific mantra and thus I was shocked to realize the Pandit did not speak any words of prayer while online I was told an accompanying mantra or prayer is proper. He refused and was more focused on the fact that the dime and nickel had to belong in the wooden box on the ground. I then also noticed that the bag of lentils I left for the God were removed nearly within 2 minutes of me placing it as an offering to the God. Geez,...no patience?! I would like to tell the Pandits and caretakers of this temple to please wait at least 5 minutes, have patience at least until the person who offers the donation and food to God has left the temple. This experience made me realize the Pandits here are more money focused and religion is a business for them, just like many pandits sitting in temples in Indian Square in Jersey City. They can also evade taxes. It's sadly and unfortunately primarily a business for them. At least this is the way I was treated.2 Stars
