Historical Review Excerpts

Review snippets came from the source workbook and may reflect public reviews available around 2018.

Google Nice temple with all deities.4 stars
Google Great place to renew your spiritual vowes5 stars
Google The temple is beautiful but I felt sad and disconnected when the main priests asked parents to take the kids out, before "Abhishekum", as kids were making some noise. The main priest had a bluetooth connected loud speaker, yet he felt disturbed by beautiful squeaks of children. In India, no matter, how noisy the surroundings are, priests are able to perform all rituals. It shows their level of concentration and dedication to worship. They do not even use hi-tech and yet they have presence in the worship.3 stars
Google presence in the worship.5 stars
Google The hindu temple of canton is one of the main temples in the city for both Canton as well as Ann Arbor area. There is big Parking area outside the temple. The temple is beautiful and have deities to worship for people belonging to different regions of India.5 stars
Yelp I personally think these establishments are all about business. In the name of God take your hard earned money. But who am I to change it? I am no one. This whole idea of business has been practiced by the learned folks way before I was born into this world. May it be in the form of a Cathedral, or a Church or a Mosque or a Temple. Dont get me wrong, I am no atheist. I do believe God exists. But I do not believe in the different forms of God. I do not believe that one religion is better than the other. Its is the human misconception of a religion or the books interpretted by said humans to their own gains, that really mess up everything that life has to offer. If you look at all the stuff happening in the world today, or has happened in the past, you will see that 90% of the wars that we humans fight for and die for is due to religion. That being said..This is a Hindu Temple. For the people of the Hindu faith. Predominantly a faith that is Indian in its origins. It is said to be one of the oldest faiths as faiths go... Before Christianity or Muslimism came to be. (The Hindu calendar dates back to beyond 2000 BCE ). That also being said.... This is a brand new building, that went up from donations (money) from the wealthy/well to do Indo-Americans (Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers, Business Owners) living in the area. It houses 7 Indian dieties, and the priests. There is a shop selling various religion induced books etc on the premises. There is 24 hr armed security on the premises (for the safety of the patrons offcourse). All the pujas (prayers) Hindu style is performed here. The floors are marble, the place is clean to spotless. There is ample on site parking for 200 automobiles.5 stars
Yelp It's the best hindu temple we have ever been to, I have been going here since the year it started and have attended all the events , janmashtami, Navratri, diwali, karvachauth etc. each and every festival is celebrated with utmost care and in a grand way.. All the priests are very knowledgable and extremely polite. When my son was born, and I brought him to this temple, Mukhiya ji was very kind and helping , he performed the Pooja so well, I couldn't ask for more. My son now a preschooler has been going to this temple since his birth , thanks to the temple , he learned so much about hindu culture. We got our first car and came for Pooja , they did it so nicely, we were very impressed. This temple is kept very neat and clean, I love the jhankis that are put for every occasion. It was my only place outside home where I used to find peace and solace. Whenever I visited This temple , I felt like I am in India with my parents . Now that I am in California, I miss this temple so much ... It has set the standards so high that its unmatchable in any temple or priests anywhere in USA. So many memories attached to this temple. Thanks to the management, temple and all the staff because of which my stay in Michigan was memorable and delightful.5 stars
