Historical Review Excerpts

Review snippets came from the source workbook and may reflect public reviews available around 2018.

Google January 14th,2017 , exactly at eleven o'clock in the morning, in the little chapel at San Jose Vedanta Society, devotees had gathered to witness a historic event - the consecration ceremony of the newly furbished altar with slightly large size photo frames of the Holy Trio - Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Sri Ma Sarada and Swami Vivekanada, the fountain head of a universal faith movement on the ancient Vedantic principles. The Puja conducted by the Revered Swami Prasannatmanandaji , the priest in charge of both the Berkley and San Jose centres, had all the solemnity and devotion attached to all Ramakrishna Math celebrations. The silence of the occasion was broken by continuous utterance of sacred mantras and strains of fine devotional songs. Homam ( Holy Sacrificial Fire ), performed at the end of two hour worship by venerable Swami Aparananda who had recently abdicated his forty years' charge of the two centres, had been the central attraction of the day. Elaborate prasadam was arranged for all the devotees present. The volunteers sense of service, humilityand discipline were remarkable. The day long program continued with address by rhe Swamijis, aarti and a duet music of flute and santoor which ,unfortunately, could not be attended by me. To witness an event of this sort , far from my country , on a foreign terrain, was a blessed occasion for me and my family. Salutations to the Lord for whom it was possible !5 stars
